MIRI: Firefighters from BBP Miri Sentral contained an oil spill on Canada Hill after a trailer came to rest across the main road this morning.
The incident was reported at 8.03am, and Bomba personnel were mobilised immediately.
The first appliance left the station at 8.04 am and reached the scene at 8.10am, about six kilometres away.
Operations began at 8.11 and were completed by 8.45am, with the team returning to base shortly afterwards.
On arrival, firefighters found a trailer truck obstructing the carriageway and oil spilled across the road surface.
The incident commander ordered crews to cover the affected area with sand to prevent the spill from spreading and to reduce the risk of further accidents.
No injuries were reported.
The response involved one fire tender, one emergency medical response unit, a Hilux and a utility van.
No other agencies were reported to have attended.
Authorities did not give details on what caused the trailer to block the road.
