DARO: A 43-year-old fisherman was killed after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a lorry at Jalan Kampung Semop, Pulau Bruit, yesterday evening (July 3).
Daro police chief DSP Rahim Mihos said initial investigations found the motorcyclist was travelling from the Batang Paloh ferry terminal towards Kampung Semop.
The lorry was travelling from Kampung Penipah towards Sarikei.
“The motorcycle collided with the lorry while entering a junction, causing the rider to be thrown onto the left road shoulder and lose consciousness.
“A medical officer at the scene confirmed the victim had died at the scene,” he said.
Rahim said the victim’s body was taken to Daro Hospital for further action.
The case is under investigation.
Police advised road users to comply with traffic regulations, ensure their vehicles are in a safe condition before travelling and remain vigilant of road conditions and other road users.
