MIRI: Five schools from Batu Niah and Sibuti area recently participated in 2022 ‘Peace Poster’ competition with the theme ‘Lead with Compassion’ for the year 2022.
The schools that involved with the competition were SK Batu Niah, SJKC Chee Mung, SMK Subis, SJKC Chin Nam and SJKC Chung Hua Sibuti.
“The peace poster contest is one of the major event held on a yearly basis by Lions Clubs International,” said a press release.
It also added that the mission is to create awareness and understanding amongst children at a young age on the meaning of ‘world peace’.
President of Lions Club, Andy Jong Wan Joon together with members of the club had delivered the prizes to the winners this month at each of their respective schools.
Chai Wen Wen from SJKC Chee Mung emerged as champion while the first runner up was Elijah Rodney, also from the same school and second runner up was Martina Machanda from SMK Subis.
The competition was held in collaboration with the Lions Club International of District 308-A2 Region 4 in Zone 9 and Zone 10.
