SIBU: Several services at Jalan Lanang Health Clinic (KKJL) remain temporarily unavailable following recent flood damage, with restoration efforts currently underway.
Among the affected services are blood tests, immunisation and vaccination, X-ray scanning, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy.
The clinic’s Safety Committee explained that blood tests are on hold due to damaged blood processing equipment, while vaccines were relocated to prevent spoilage.
“The affected services will resume once the vaccine stock is safe to be returned to the clinic. Patients will be contacted for new appointments,” the committee said in a Facebook posting.
X-ray, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy services also remain suspended as safety inspections and equipment maintenance are ongoing.
Despite the disruptions, key services such as the Outpatient Department (OPD), Maternal Health Unit, Pharmacy Unit, and Tuberculosis Control Programme (TBCP) Clinic resumed operations today (March 25) from 8 am.
The Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Unit has also begun rescheduling appointments affected by the closure.
Efforts to repair and replace flood-damaged medical equipment and devices are being carried out urgently, with full operations expected to resume once the restoration process is complete.
In the meantime, patients requiring unavailable services are advised to seek treatment at the nearest health clinics.
