DALAT: RHB Bank has come forward to help the flood victims at the Temporary Relief Centre (PPS) at the Dalat Unity Stadium.

Minister of Women, Children and Community Wellbeing Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said it is hoped that the aid would ease the burden of the flood victims.

“We also hope that the water in this area recedes so that this PPS is closed and then everyone can return to their respective homes.

“If they come back later, the flood victims can take home their sleeping equipment such as mattresses, pillows, mats and blankets,” she said during the Flood Aid Presentation ceremony from RHB Bank, yesterday.

Fatimah, who is also Dalat assemblywoman, also called on the flood victims to persevere and stay motivated in the face of this calamity.

Even though there was a lot of damage to property, he believed that this disaster was a test in life.

“However, be reminded that health and safety during the post-flood period should be prioritised. This is mainly to prevent water-borne diseases during floods,” she explained.

Accordingly Fatimah insisted that education should continue after the flood, adding that education is the most valuable asset for our children’s future.

In the meantime, Fatimah also expressed her appreciation to the contributors who have contributed to the flood victims.

Also present were RHB Sarawak regional director Mohd Tony Ong Abdullah and Dalat District Officer Matthew Hubert.
