KUCHING: A free cat anti-rabies vaccination programme will be held from Sept 26 to 28, sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim in collaboration with the Sarawak Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) and the Sarawak Veterinary Association (SVA).
The campaign aims to help control rabies and protect families and communities.
According to a media statement, the programme will be held at participating clinics in Sibu, Miri, Mukah and Kuching.
In Sibu, vaccinations are available at Union Veterinary Clinic, Jalan Wong Soon Kai, with call-in registration.
Miri pet owners may register via a Google Form on Zero Strays Miri’s Facebook page for Bettie Veterinary Clinic and Surgery, or call Brighton Veterinary Clinic, Jalan Temenggong Datuk Oyong Lawai, directly.
Mukah residents can register by phone with I-Care Veterinary Clinic, Jalan Bedanga Ulu.
In Kuching, registration is required via a Google Form on SSPCA’s Facebook and Instagram pages: ten clinics will participate, including Animal Central Veterinary Clinic, AnyPets Veterinary Clinic, Ai Love Animal Clinic, Caring Paws Veterinary Clinic, City Veterinary Center, Chai Veterinary Clinic, Paws Medics Vet Clinic and Surgery, Primavet Animal Clinic, Ting & Lu Veterinary Center and Vet Corner Veterinary Center.
Appointments are mandatory, and only healthy, Domestic Short-Haired cats aged at least three months and not pregnant are eligible, with a maximum of two cats permitted per household.
Vaccinations will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited stocks. Organisers urge early registration to avoid disappointment.
