KUALA LUMPUR: The Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, visited Titiwangsa Lake Gardens during an official holiday in the capital, participating in a tree-planting programme to promote environmental conservation.
The event kicked off with a briefing by a Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) representative, who emphasised the park’s role as a vital recreational hub for city dwellers while outlining ongoing preservation and conservation initiatives.
In a symbolic act of commitment to urban greening, Wan Junaidi and his wife planted a Magnolia Champaca, locally known as the Cempaka Kuning tree.
After the ceremony, the couple and their entourage toured the park, taking in its green spaces and recreational facilities.
Speaking at the event, Wan Junaidi highlighted the importance of public parks like Titiwangsa Lake Gardens in improving the quality of life for urban residents.
He hoped these efforts to preserve green spaces would continue, benefiting both current and future generations.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and his wife, Datin Sri Ruziah Mohd, were also present, along with Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Dr Maimunah Mohd Sharif.
