KUCHING: Hakim Danish Ramli produced a stunning comeback ride to win the Moto3 Czech Grand Prix at Brno on Sunday (June 21), becoming the first Malaysian rider in a decade to claim victory in the category.

The AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSI rider overcame a 12-place grid penalty and a starting position of 14th to secure his maiden Moto3 win in dramatic fashion.

Hakim Danish charged through the field and joined the lead group by the second lap before staying in contention throughout a fiercely contested race involving title contenders Maximo Quiles, Brian Uriarte and David Almansa.

The Malaysian rookie timed his challenge perfectly, capitalising on intense battles among the frontrunners on the final lap before surging ahead in the closing sector to seal a memorable victory.

Uriarte finished second, while championship leader Quiles completed the podium in third.

The triumph marks the biggest achievement of Hakim Danish’s career and ends Malaysia’s 10-year wait for a Moto3 victory since Khairul Idham Pawi’s famous win at the Sachsenring in 2016.

It was also Hakim Danish’s second podium finish of the 2026 season following his third-place result at the Italian Grand Prix in Mugello, further strengthening his reputation as one of Malaysia’s brightest motorcycle racing talents.
