KUCHING: The passing of former Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud is a significant loss for Sarawak and the nation, said Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman.
The chief political secretary to the Premier extended his heartfelt condolences to Taib’s family, saying his contributions and dedication throughout his tenure will be remembered.
Taib passed away early this morning at a hospital in the national capital, Kuala Lumpur.
“The passing of our statesman is a significant loss for Sarawak and the nation as a whole. The contributions and dedication of the late Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud will be forever remembered,” the Tupong Assemblyman Fazzrudin said in a Facebook post.
In a moment of reflection and prayer, Fazzrudin invoked, “O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, pardon him, honour his death, widen his grave, make Paradise his resting place, and grant patience to his family. May his soul be showered with mercy and be among the righteous.”
Taib leaves behind a legacy of leadership and service that will endure in the hearts and minds of the people of Sarawak.
