KUCHING: Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, received a courtesy call from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Dan Kasih Sayang Sibu led by religious leaders from Sibu at the Astana Negeri Sarawak here today.
The visit was led by the Chairman of the Association of Churches in Sarawak (ACS), Archdeacon Jose Jol, to introduce the members of the organisation.
Their presence was to exchange views with Wan Junaidi as well as to inform him about the activities they have been carrying out.
In conjunction with Wan Junaidi’s upcoming birthday, the organisation also conveyed their birthday wishes to him on his 79th birthday.
Meanwhile, His Excellency expressed his hope that the religious leaders present would continue to uphold unity and harmony, which are the foundation of peace and stability in Sarawak.
Also present were Deputy Chairman and Superintendent of the Borneo Evangelical Mission (BEM) Sibu District, Yahya Ating; President of the Charity Welfare Association (CARITAS) Sibu, Eta Ting Ming Na; Chairperson of the ACS Women’s Ministry, Patricia Mowe; Chairman of An-Nur Mosque, Dahari Jol; President of the Hindu Temple Association Sibu, Manogaran Krishnasamy; Chairman of the Baha’i Local Spiritual Assembly Sibu, Lim Chung Tee; Chairman of the United Buddhist Association Sibu (UBAS), Ivy Chieng Ching Ping; as well as other members.
