KUCHING: Hope Place calls on the public for their support for Supan Senoi, a 39-year-old widow from Kg Gayu, Padawan, who is now solely responsible for her two school-going children and disabled mother-in-law following the recent death of her husband.
“Supan’s late husband, Lifit, was a former air conditioner technician whose career was cut short by severe gout, rendering him unable to work.
“Hope Place has been aiding the family since 2019 due to Lifit’s health struggles. He passed away in May after a hospital admission earlier this year for health complications,” it said today (June 20).
With her husband’s passing, Supan faces the challenge of being the sole provider for her family. Previously working full-time as a cleaner, she had to reduce her hours to part-time as her husband’s condition worsened and eventually stopped working entirely to care for him during his hospital stays.
Her children, aged 11 and 16, depend heavily on her, and she also cares for her physically disabled mother-in-law.
“Despite the social welfare assistance of RM300 monthly for her mother-in-law, the burden remains substantial. Hope Place continues to support Supan and her family with regular basic food aid to help ease their struggles,” it added.
For those who wish to contribute, Hope Place, also known as Persatuan Kebajikan Harapan Kuching (PKHK), welcomes donations.
They can be contacted at 082-505987 or 013-5672775. Donations can be made directly to their bank account (MBB: 511289001160) or via their Facebook page for the Sarawak Pay / S PAY GLOBAL QR code. Receipts will be provided upon request.
