KUCHING: A bedridden woman battling multiple severe health conditions has drawn urgent attention from both the Sarawak General Hospital and local non-governmental organisation, Hope Place Kuching.

Zaidna Rosli, 57, who lives with her husband and daughter at Taman Maliha, is now dependent on tube feeding and requires round-the-clock care.

Her condition is described as unstable and her future uncertain.

According to medical reports, Zaidna suffers from kidney failure, haemorrhaging and lung disease. She also has a long history of diabetes and hypertension.

Since April this year, she has been bedridden, unable to speak or move.

Her husband, Bee Suhaili, 63, has become her primary caregiver.

Despite facing his health challenges, having undergone two angiograms due to heart blockages, Bee remains dedicated to her daily care, assisting with her hygiene needs and milk supplement intake.

Bee, who previously ran a souvenir stall with Zaidna at the Kuching Waterfront, now occasionally earns income by mending shoes in the Satok area, a trade he has sustained for nearly a decade.

However, due to his wife’s deteriorating condition, he has to scale back his work.

The family currently relies on their daughter, Ivyeenna, 29, who works as a sales assistant at a pharmacy, as the household’s sole breadwinner.

Zaidna also receives monthly financial aid of RM400 from the Social Welfare Department.

Recognising the family’s difficult circumstances, Hope Place Kuching has stepped in to provide essential aid.

The NGO is supplying adult diapers and has also provided a wheelchair to assist with Zaidna’s mobility needs.

Hope Place welcomes public support to continue helping families like Zaidna’s.

Donations can be made to Maybank account 5112 8900 1160 or through S Pay Global.
