KUCHING: Sarawak and Hungary are exploring potential cooperation in green transition, biodiversity, technology transfer and knowledge sharing following a courtesy call by Hungary’s ambassador to Malaysia at Astana Negeri Sarawak today (June 18).
The Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, received Hungarian Ambassador to Malaysia, Dr Sandor Sipos, during the visit.
The courtesy call also served to strengthen ties between Hungary and Sarawak while exploring areas of mutual interest and collaboration.
Discussions included the longstanding relationship between Hungary and Sarawak, as well as efforts to commemorate the contributions of Hungarian scientists through collaborative programmes with the Sarawak State Library.
Also present were Deputy Head of Mission, Kamilla Balla; Honorary Consul of Hungary, Datuk Seri Damien Chua; Special Officer of the Honorary Consulate of Hungary, Cheering Tan; and Sarawak Regional Office’s Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Fenny Nuli.
