PAKAN: The need for suitable office facilities for the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Pakan District has been given attention as part of efforts to strengthen the agency’s administration and operational readiness in the district.
The matter was discussed during a courtesy visit by Sarikei District Civil Defence Officer Lt (PA) Shahrol Azizi Zaidi and Pakan District Civil Defence Officer Lt (PA) Johny Jamit to Pakan assemblyman Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom here on Wednesday.
The visit, among other things, focused on the need to provide a suitable Pakan District APM office to serve as a centre for the agency’s administration, coordination and operational management in the area.
Mawan gave attention to the need as part of efforts to ensure the Pakan District APM has more suitable facilities to support its duties, personnel management and operational coordination, particularly when responding to emergencies and disasters.
Better facilities would also help strengthen APM’s ability to provide a rapid, organised and effective response to the community, while facilitating cooperation and coordination with relevant agencies.
Efforts to strengthen APM at the district level also reflect the commitment to ensuring public safety, preparedness and community welfare remain priorities.
In this regard, attention to providing suitable facilities for Pakan District APM is seen as an important step towards strengthening the agency’s capacity to fulfil its responsibilities to the local community.
The courtesy visit also reflected the strong cooperation between the elected representative and APM in efforts to enhance preparedness and emergency service delivery for residents in the Pakan area.
