KUCHING: Indonesia’s newly appointed ambassador to Malaysia, Raden Iman Hascarya Kusumo, paid a courtesy call on the Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at the Astana Negeri Sarawak today (Aug 3).
Joining the meeting was the newly appointed director of the Sarawak Regional Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hendy Assan, who recently succeeded Datuk Fenny Nuli in the post.
Wan Junaidi was accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.
The visit served as an official introduction following the appointments of the two diplomats, with Raden Iman also taking over from former Indonesian ambassador Datuk Hermono.
“The meeting also provided an opportunity to strengthen ties between the Sarawak Regional Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Malaysia and the Office of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri.
Both sides also exchanged views on enhancing bilateral cooperation, diplomatic relations and international initiatives involving Sarawak.
