BINTULU: Rural infrastructure development in Jepak is being accelerated, with multiple Rural Transformation Projects (RTP) fast-tracked and closely monitored to ensure timely delivery for the local community.

Jepak assemblyman Iskandar Turkee conducted a working visit to several locations around Jepak, Samarakan and Kuala Tatau on Tuesday to review the progress of the projects.

He was accompanied by representatives from the Public Works Department (PWD), local branch leaders as well as members of the Youth wing of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Jepak.

He said some of the projects involved upgrading works and handovers, while others are still at the preliminary stage.

“Several projects have been identified for immediate implementation, while others are undergoing technical evaluation before approval,” he said during the site visit.

The visit began at Masjid Al-Amin, Kuala Tatau, where wall repairs and facility improvements are on the cards.

Also inspected was the proposed upgrading of the multipurpose hall at Kampung Nour Iman, Kuala Tatau, which includes raising the floor level to mitigate flooding, at an estimated cost of RM150,000.

In Samarakan, he visited the upgrading project at Surau Darul Muslim Kampung Muslim and also inspected Rumah Jeba Rayang.

The delegation then proceeded to Kampung Warisan Jepak to review the upgrading of the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) room and the Jepak Community Hub, both receiving allocations for facility improvements.

Meanwhile, the road upgrading project in Kampung Sebuan Besar Jepak is nearing completion and is expected to enhance comfort and safety for residents.

A visit was also conducted to the Kampung Jepak Phase 2 multipurpose hall, involving air-conditioning installation, stage construction and repair works, estimated at RM100,000.

Another project in the pipeline is the upgrading of the RPR (PPS) Sebiew multipurpose hall, which includes painting, repairs and toilet improvements, at an estimated cost of RM150,000.

The visit concluded at the Kampung Kemunting Phase 2 multipurpose hall, where upgrades have been proposed, including the construction of a parking area wall and repair works, estimated at RM100,000.

Iskandar said most projects are expected to be completed within six months, subject to the scope of work and technical approvals.
