KUCHING: A section of Jalan Satok at the Al-Idrus Commercial Centre here will be temporarily closed this weekend to facilitate the organisation of the DBKU Alamanda Car Boot Sale programme.
In a statement today, the Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) said the affected area is located near its payment counter office at the Al-Idrus Commercial Centre, Jalan Satok.
The road closure will begin at 10:00 pm tonight (June 26), while on June 27 and 28, the road will be closed daily from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm throughout the programme.
DBKU advised road users to plan their journeys in advance, obey traffic signs and use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion in the area.
The local authority also apologised for any inconvenience caused and expressed appreciation for the cooperation and understanding of the public in ensuring the smooth running of the programme.
Members of the public are invited to attend the DBKU Alamanda Car Boot Sale, which will feature a variety of items for sale, including food, beverages and clothing.
The programme is expected to attract visitors and support local vendors participating in the event.
