SRI AMAN: Preparations at the Jelukong Rest and Service Area (R&R) along the Pan Borneo Highway are being intensified ahead of its full operations scheduled for May 15.
Public Works Department Sarawak (PWD Sarawak) director Dr Cassidy Morris conducted an inspection of the facilities today (May 9) to assess readiness, particularly involving food stalls and convenience store operations.
“The visit aimed to ensure that all operational aspects are in good condition ahead of the full opening ahead of the full opening scheduled for May 15,” the department said in a statement posted on its Facebook page today (May 9).
It added that several food stalls have already begun limited operations as part of an initial phase, allowing highway users to gradually experience the facilities and environment at the Jelukong R&R.
In addition, cleaning and maintenance works are being actively carried out, covering toilet facilities, prayer rooms, and surrounding areas to ensure the comfort of users remains at the highest standard.
“Security at the R&R area is also being monitored 24 hours a day to ensure a safe, orderly, and conducive environment for visitors,” it added.
