SIMANGGANG: A sum of RM50,000 in Minor Rural Project (MRP) fund has been allocated to five Chinese Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) in Pekan Lachau and Pantu.

The beneficiaries of the MRP fund also included two Parent-Teacher Associations (PIBGs) from SJK(C) Chung Hua Bangkong and SJK(C) Chung Hua Pantu.

The allocation was presented by Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis during a gotong-royong programme organised by Sri Aman Distric Office (MDSA) and JKKK Chinese Pekan Lachau at Pasar Lachau earlier today.

Harden, who is also the Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD), reminded JKKK members to work together to develop the area with a transparent and compliant management.

“The JKKK members are advised to comply with the guidelines provided by their respective District Offices.

“I also suggest that recipients of the MRP allocation, representing the JKKK and associated groups, communicate to their members about the government’s support under the GPS.

“Therefore, expressing gratitude and loyalty to the current government is highly valued,” he said in a statement today.

The gotong-royong programme, aimed at instilling a culture of cleanliness among the residents of Lachau, saw around 50 residents, including 25 MDSA councillors led by organising chairman Liew Shan Boo, taking part.

Additionally, the group also visited various proposed project sites, including the paving site around the Pantu Benevolent Society Temple, the upgrading of the Pantu Chinese Cemetery access road and the proposed site for the SJK(C) Chung Hua Pantu Multipurpose Hall.
