BAU: Three unemployed men were arrested after testing positive for drugs during ‘Ops Tapis Khas’ carried out by narcotics police yesterday (May 11).

Bau police chief Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman said initial urine screening tests found them positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.

“The suspects, aged between 24, 31 and 34, are being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

“Initial investigations found that they admitted to consuming syabu two days before their arrest,” he said.

No drugs or other illegal items were seized during the operation.

Background checks found two of them have prior records related to drug abuse, while another had no prior record.

Mohd Haide said the suspects are being held at Bau police lock-up for further action.
