BINTULU: The Sarawak Road Transport Department (JPJ) is set to intensify enforcement operations targeting the use of high-intensity discharge (HID) lights on vehicles.
This follows an operation conducted along Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi on Monday, during which HID light usage was identified as a significant offence.
JPJ stated that the enhanced enforcement efforts aim to address this issue more effectively.

In the recent operation, a total of 109 non-compliance notices were issued. The enforcement team was led by Sarawak JPJ director Norizan Jili and Bintulu JPJ chief Fedrick Kedo, along with 26 officers and members of JPJ Bintulu.
Offences included not only the use of HID lights but also possession of expired driving license, driving without license, and illegal vehicle modifications.
The department advised all road users to adhere to traffic regulations, drive safely, and report any traffic-related complaints via e-Aduan@jpj app or via http://jpj.spab.gov.my.
