PADAWAN: Kampung Annah Rais here will be elevated to a Cultural Heritage Village in efforts to preserve the cultural identity and historical legacy of the Bidayuh community.
Deputy Minister for Transport Datuk Dr Jerip Susil said the spirit of community cooperation is crucial to ensuring that planned developments are implemented effectively and benefit future generations.
“Tourism cannot solely rely on physical attractions. We must offer authentic cultural experiences.
“Kampung Annah Rais should be an active cultural village, not merely a living museum,” he said when officiating at the Launch of Tourism Infrastructure and the Appreciation Ceremony for the Kampung Annah Rais Youth Club on Sunday (Apr 27).
During the event, Dr Jerip, who is also Mambong assemblyman, announced an allocation of RM30,000 for this year and an additional RM30,000 next year to strengthen tourism activities and infrastructure development in the village.
Located within the UNESCO Geopark area, Kampung Annah Rais is also earmarked for further development projects, including the construction of a small township, a riverside walk, and new tourism facilities.
