MUKAH: Kaul Talent Night 2026 brought together youth performers at the Mukah Kaul Festival, highlighting grassroots efforts to nurture cultural talent and strengthen community participation through creative expression.
Organised by Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak in collaboration with the Mukah Melanau Association, the programme was held from 8 pm to 11 pm at the main stage of the Pesta Kaul Mukah and drew participation from youths, higher education students and members of the local community.
A total of eight groups competed in the event, presenting performances ranging from traditional and contemporary dance to group singing and creative musical showcases reflecting the diversity of local talent.
Balingian assemblyman and Kaul Festival 2026 organising committee chairman Abdul Yakub Arbi welcomed initiatives that provide platforms for young people to develop their creativity while strengthening community engagement through cultural activities.

In the competition, Sanggar Tari emerged champion, taking home RM800 in cash along with a certificate and hamper.
The Little Boy of Kenyalang secured second place, followed by Seni Tari Warisan Medong in third place. All participating teams also received certificates of participation in recognition of their efforts.
Beyond the competition, the programme demonstrated how community-based platforms can help build confidence among youths while reinforcing appreciation for heritage through artistic expression.
