KUCHING: A new corporate social responsibility (CSR) platform, Kind Borneo, was officially launched to support non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and community stakeholders across Sarawak and the wider Borneo region.

The launch, held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), featured NGO pitch presentations in the morning, followed by two panel discussions in the afternoon.

Kind Borneo is spearheaded by Borneo Business Connect directors Datuk Dr Gandhi and Gracie Geikie, with advisory support from Datin Rosemarie Wong Jabu, Datuk Jacqueline Fong and Datin Dona Drury Wee, all of whom bring extensive experience in NGO and community development work.

“The initiative is strategically co-located with Business Events Sarawak’s Legacy 360 Conference, a collaboration that highlights the potential for business events to deliver meaningful CSR legacies,” said Business Events Sarawak CEO Amelia Roziman.

“Business events have immense potential to be a force for good, leaving behind a legacy that extends far beyond the conference walls,” she said.

The first panel session, Forging Effective Partnerships — Aligning CSR Vision with NGO Impact, moderated by Kingston Khoo, explored community needs, sustainable support models, and collaboration opportunities.

The second session, Beyond Grants — A Strategic Blueprint for NGO Success with Government-Linked Foundations, moderated by Fong, focused on navigating grant acquisitions and sharing success stories.

“Around 20 NGOs and social enterprises showcased their work at the NGO Gallery, while representatives from associations, foundations, community leaders, and business events professionals participated in the sessions,”she said.
