KOTA SAMARAHAN: Community leaders and village chiefs (KMKK) play a crucial role in conveying information and serving as a bridge between the people and the government.
Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang said KMKK also acts as a grassroots reference point and a vital link to the government.
“The close cooperation between community leaders and the government is essential to ensure the people’s welfare and the smooth implementation of development projects.
“I hope such meetings will further strengthen communication and cooperation between us,” she said.
Rubiah said this during a meeting session with KMKK from Kota Samarahan District at the Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (RISDA) yesterday.

During the meeting, the Kota Samarahan MP listened to various suggestions and concerns, including infrastructure issues, basic amenities, and local economic development.
As part of Rubiah’s annual engagement with KMKK, the session also discussed future planning to coordinate development in her constituency, ensuring it aligns with the needs of the local community.
Such meetings are expected to continue periodically to ensure the people’s voices are heard and action is taken effectively.
