KUCHING: The community leaders in Kota Sentosa have been reminded to be diligent in identifying the installation points of streetlights allocated to the area.

According to Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau sin, identifying the installation points will ensure that the streetlights can be completed on time and schedule.

Yap emphasized the importance of having adequate streetlights in Kota Sentosa as it will increase visibility, promote road safety for drivers and pedestrians, and discourage night-time theft or violence.

He also mentioned that any unnecessary delay in the installation process will defeat the objectives of the state government.

To address the installation of streetlights, Yap conducted a meeting at his service center between community leaders and representatives from SESCO, MBKS, MPP, and the Ministry of Utility and Telecommunication of Sarawak.

The installation cost over RM1 million, and Yap requested the cooperation of all stakeholders to ensure that the installation can be carried out and completed speedily.

Yap also stated that any funding allocated to him will be used to further improve the infrastructures and amenities under his constituency.
