KUCHING: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), led by Zubir Hamsa, Director of the Intellectual Property Section, Enforcement Division, Putrajaya, paid a courtesy visit to the Sarawak Department of Agriculture (DOA) with the aim of strengthening collaboration between the two agencies.
The delegation was received by Sarawak DOA Director, Dominic Chunggai.
During the visit, both parties engaged in a constructive dialogue focused on enhancing the registration of intellectual property for Sarawak’s agricultural products.
The session included a presentation on products identified under Geographical Indication (GI) currently supervised by the DOA.
Also present during the discussion was the Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), which explored potential digital support.
The visit also included discussions on a proposal to prepare a draft handbook on Geographical Indication for the intellectual property registration of Sarawak products.
