KUCHING: Laila Café has opened its second outlet at Metrocity Matang, offering a modern and comfortable dining concept to the local food scene.

The café, first established in 2014 at Jalan Datuk Ajibah Abol, Kampung Masjid, here has long been recognised for its cosy atmosphere and tasty offerings.

The new branch at Metrocity, which operates daily from 6.30 am to 3 pm, marks a fresh step for the entrepreneurial couple behind the business, Mohd Iswandy Rajali and his wife, Nurfatin Farhana Iskandar. They have infused the outlet with a contemporary design to meet the evolving demands of customers.

Congratulating the duo, Tupong assemblyman and Chief Political Secretary to the Premier, Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, praised their entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to quality.

“I extend my highest congratulations to Mohd Iswandy and Nurfatin. From their beginnings at Kampung Masjid, they have now grown to open this second outlet in Metrocity.

“It reflects not only their success but also their willingness to adapt to customer expectations — providing not just good food but also a comfortable and attractive environment,” he told Sarawak Tribune at the cafe’s opening in Metrocity Matang today.

Fazzrudin added that such efforts would not only boost their sales but also contribute to the local economy and inspire others to pursue business ventures of their own.

“Both of them are young entrepreneurs whom I regard as successful, and I hope more of our youth will follow their example,” he said.

The opening of Laila Café Metrocity has already drawn positive attention, with its blend of modern ambience and homely comfort making it a welcome addition to the community.

Mohd Iswandy shared that construction of the new café began in April and was completed in August this year.

He also invited the public to try the café’s signature Mee Kolok and Sarawak Laksa, among other popular dishes.

“We have Mee Kolok, Sarawak Laksa, Nasi Lemak and many others for customers to enjoy,” he said.
