SIBU: A delegation of Lions Clubs International District 308-A2 has recently paid an official visit to the Lions International Multiple District 310 Headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand, to promote the upcoming 2026 Asia Pacific Lions Leaders’ Summit (APLLS) to be held here from July 17 to 19 next year.
Upon their arrival, the delegation, who comprised First Vice-District Governor, Datuk Jimmy Tie Hien Hwa, Past District Governor, Datuk Betty Wong Yieng who is also APLLS organising chairperson, and organising treasurer, Jamie Tiew, were warmly received by MD 310 distinguished leaders.
The MD 310 distinguished leaders included Past Council chairperson Toy, District Governor Kampan of District 310 C, District Governor Sophia of District 310 A1, First Vice-District Governor Waraporn of District 310 E and her husband, Lion Boonma, Second Vice-District Governor Boontiam of District 310 C, Past District Governor Supa, and Past District Governor Rote.
The key mission of the visit was to introduce and extend invitations to the APPLS, which will be grandly held at Kingwood Hotel here.
To date, the Summit has attracted enthusiastic registrations from Lions leaders representing 17 countries, special regions and territories, showcasing the strong regional support and high anticipation toward this significant event.
According to Wong, the Summit aims to gather Lions leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region to strengthen cross-border collaboration, enhance leadership development and foster international networking.
“Programme highlights will encompass the Red Carpet ‘Star Walk of Fame’ Entrance, the Leadership Dialogue with the International President and the International Cultural Costumes Night, all designed to present a world-class Summit,” she stated.
