SARATOK: Swift action by seven residents of Rh Dana Kelimbang at Krupok here, prevented a parking garage fire from spreading to their longhouse last night (Apr 1).
The incident happened around 9.55 pm, resulting in five per cent damage to the parking garage and minor damage to a parked car.
Reacting promptly, the longhouse folk sprang into action and used eight dry dust extinguishers to douse the fire before it could spread to its surroundings.
Firefighters from Saratok station were dispatched to the scene after they received a distress call.
Upon arrival, the team found that the fire was still ablaze and immediately got down to work to ensure that the flames were completely put out.
The team ended their tasks at 10.40 pm.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and no injuries were reported.
