Long Panai Church receives RM400,000 in building fund

MIRI: The Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) has allocated RM400,000 for the construction of the new BEM Long Panai Church.

The contribution was presented by Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring) Datuk Gerawat Gala, during the Long Panai Village Family Day celebration held at Lakeside Ilham Centre here recently.

Gerawat, who is also Mulu assemblyman, said that the Sarawak government remains committed to ensuring that religious and community needs, especially in rural areas, continue to receive due attention.

“This contribution is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to support the spiritual needs and infrastructure of rural communities,” he added.

He also stressed the importance of fostering close community ties regardless of age or background, urging everyone to continue strengthening unity and solidarity for the betterment of the village.

The Long Panai Village Family Day celebration featured various activities, including traditional games, cultural performances, and a communal feast.
