BINTANGOR: A family of four, including a young child and a baby, miraculously survived a car crash along Jalan KJD yesterday (Jan 27).
The accident, which occurred around 5.25 pm, involved a Perodua Myvi that veered off the road and plunged headfirst into a drain, trapping the driver inside.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Bintangor station were deployed to the scene, about 16km away, following an emergency call.
Upon arrival, the team performed the extrication works and freed the driver using specialised tools. Meanwhile, the other three passengers were rescued by members of the public before authorities arrived.
All four victims were handed over to paramedics at the scene for initial treatment before being taken to the hospital for further medical attention.
The extent of their injuries remains unclear.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the rescue operation concluded at 6.50 pm.
