KUCHING: The spirit of giving and unity shone brightly at The Spring shopping mall during the Maksak Cares Christmas charity programme, organised by Exco Maksak Wanita Sarawak.
The event supported SK St John Taee in Serian, which was recently affected by floods, and extended festive cheer to 100 children from B40 families under the State Service Department.
The programme brought smiles to the faces of children aged 7 to 12 as they gathered at The Spring’s FoodBazaar to enjoy a special Christmas meal.
The occasion was graced by advisor of Maksak Wanita Sarawak, Datin Patinggi Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, who presented monetary gifts to the children and handed over a token of support to the school representative.
The Spring Management Services and Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd, Datin Christine Ling, complemented the joyous occasion by distributing goodie bags.
These were thoughtfully curated with contributions from The Spring’s tenants, embodying the spirit of Christmas generosity.
Among the notable attendees were vice-president 1 of Sabati, Datuk Doreen Mayang, and wife of the Sarawak State Secretary and chairman of Maksak Wanita Sarawak, Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang.
“This event is a testament to the power of compassion and community. By coming together, we have made this Christmas brighter for those who need it most,” said Ling.
The Maksak Cares initiative was made possible by the generosity of sponsors, including Ta Kiong, Miniso, Cindy Plus, John’s Pie, Taka Patisserie, BATA and Clawzone.
