SARIBAS: The Maludam area is set for rapid development, with several strategic infrastructure projects expected to enhance rural connectivity and unlock new economic opportunities for local communities.
Lingga assemblywoman Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor said this includes the construction of the Batang Lupar 2 Bridge, which is expected to have a significant impact on economic growth and transportation links, enabling residents to market their local products to a wider market.
She encouraged the community to take advantage of the improved infrastructure to promote locally produced goods beyond the area and enhance the community’s economic well-being.
“The new Maludam Square has been completed, while several other development projects will be implemented in phases to ensure more public facilities and amenities are made available to local residents,” she said during the Hari Bersama Pelanggan programme organised by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) at the Kampung Maludam Multipurpose Hall here yesterday.
Dayang Noorazah also urged the people of Kampung Maludam to remain united, maintain close cooperation with community leaders and government agencies, and continue supporting the state’s development agenda for the well-being of the people.
Meanwhile, Pusa District Officer Hamdan Katang said the Hari Bersama Pelanggan programme is important as it provides residents with the opportunity to obtain accurate and verified information directly from the relevant government agencies.
He also commended UKAS for its role in disseminating official information on Sarawak government policies, initiatives and development programmes to the public, and expressed hope that close cooperation among all agencies continue to be strengthened in the future.
