MUKAH: Police arrested a local man suspected of drug abuse during a raid at a house in Kampung Lintang, Balingian, here on Sunday (April 5).
Mukah police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias said the suspect, aged 56, was detained at about 1.20 pm following intelligence gathered by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division.
He said inspections at the house led to the discovery of a straw containing crystal-like substances believed to be methamphetamine.
“The drugs seized weighed about 0.34 grammes,” he said in a statement.
A urine test also found the suspect positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
The suspect, who works as a labourer, has been remanded for three days until April 9 to assist in investigations.
The case is being investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
