Man dies after fall from prominent mall

Police inspect the body of a 20-something man after he allegedly fell down from a shopping mall.

KUCHING: A local man in his 20s was found dead after allegedly falling from a shopping mall along Jalan Wan Alwi early this morning.

Kuching police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the incident was reported at around 12.08 am by the public.

A police team and paramedics were dispatched to the scene, where they found the man lying face down, shirtless, and wearing only black trousers.

“Paramedics confirmed that the victim died at the scene, and his body was taken to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for a post-mortem.

“The case is being classified as a sudden death,” he said in a statement.

Mohd Farhan urged the public not to speculate on the incident and called on anyone with information to contact Sekama police station chief ASP Simon Nareng at 016-8547803, Sekama police station at 082-332522, or the nearest police station.
