KUCHING: A 58-year-old local Chinese man was found unconscious inside a vehicle at a residential parking area in Taman Hui Sing, here, early morning yesterday (March 3).
The police have classified the case as a sudden death.
Kuching district police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah confirmed that the police received a report at 7.47 am from a member of the public on the incident.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the deceased inside the locked vehicle with a hose connected from the exhaust pipe into the car’s interior.
Additionally, burnt charcoal was discovered inside a pan placed in the vehicle’s boot.
Paramedics from Sarawak General Hospital pronounced the man dead at the scene. His body has been sent to the hospital’s Forensic Department for a post-mortem examination.
The police have urged the public to refrain from speculating on the incident out of respect for the deceased’s family.
