LUNDU: A 37-year-old man was found dead beside his boat in Kampung Sebuluh Cina here on Sunday (July 19), with authorities believing he may have suffered a medical episode.
Chang Han Yong was discovered lying motionless beside his boat with foam around his mouth by a member of the public, who alerted the authorities at 3.15 pm.
The victim’s mother said she noticed that he was not at home after returning from the market earlier in the day before she left for Bau.
She also revealed that her son had been living with epilepsy since he was 17 years old.
Following the discovery, a police report was lodged for further action.
Responding firefighters from Lundu station found the victim unresponsive near his boat, while paramedics later pronounced him dead at the scene.
Firefighters later placed the body on a stretcher and carried it to a nearby family residence before handing it over to the police for further investigation.
The operation ended at 4:15 pm.
