BAU: A 22-year-old man was injured in a single-vehicle accident involving a Proton Saga Aeroback along Jalan Kampung Musi, Pan Borneo Highway here this morning (Dec 20).
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received an emergency call at 10.03 am and a team from the Bau Bomba Station arrived at the scene about 17 minutes later, at 10.20 am.
The victim, identified as Jobeson Jenoring, had exited the vehicle on his own before firefighters arrived and was found conscious but injured.
Firefighters stabilised the victim by fitting a cervical collar before placing him on a stretcher and handing him over to the health department for further treatment.
The operation was brought under control at 10.40am and concluded 10 minutes later, after firefighters ensured the scene was safe.
Five personnel were involved in the operation, with one Light Fire Rescue Tender (LFRT) and one Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle deployed.
