Man nabbed, unlicensed diesel seized

SIBU: Marine police seized a total of 21,000 litres of unlicensed diesel worth RM173,450 during an ‘Ops Contraband’ operation which was conducted here on Aug 17.

Sibu district police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili, in a statement said that a 42-year-old man has been arrested at about 9am in a warehouse in Jalan Kapor on Wednesday.

“A team of marine police personnel was conducting Ops Kontraban at the said place when they found 12 blue plastic tanks which contained diesel, five empty blue plastic barrels, three square white barrels filled with diesel oil, one oil pump, one oil metre unit, three nozzle hose units and a silver green Pajero vehicle,” he said.

Zulkipli said the suspect, who is the warehouse keeper, together with the diesel had been referred to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Sibu Division for investigation and further action.
