Manhunt underway for foreigner after worker slashed to death

MUKAH: Police are on the hunt for a foreign man in connection with a fight that resulted in the death of a fellow foreigner at a unit of an oil palm plantation workers’ quarters, here.

Mukah police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias said the incident happened on Sunday (Dec 15).

He said police are seeking public  assistance in locating the suspect, who is believed to be involved in a fight that led to the death of a 29-year-old foreign plantation worker.

“The victim was found with slash wounds to the neck and stomach, inflicted with a sharp object. Preliminary investigations suggest the incident stemmed from a disagreement between the two individuals.

“We have identified the suspect as Aci in his 30s. He is reported to have fled following the incident,” he said.

Rizal said police have launched ‘Op Kesan’, with the support of the K9 Unit and the General Operations Force (GOF), to track down the suspect.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
