SARIKEI: Upgrading works at Masjid Al-Falah, Sungai Gemuan, under the Masjid and Surau Project have been completed and officially verified during a site visit on Friday.

The verification visit was attended by Masjid Al-Falah chairman Ahmad Amir and SDO officer Nina Azirina.

Also witnessing the completion verification was Wong Soon Mee, who represented Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities and Sarikei MP as well as Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, together with the Sarikei Service Centre team.

Among the improvement works carried out were the construction of a new mosque fence, installation of new doors, ceiling fans and floor carpeting.

Huang, in a press statement, said the upgrading facilities at places of worship remained among his ongoing commitments to ensure local communities had access to facilities that were more comfortable, safe and conducive.

He said well-maintained mosque facilities were important not only for the daily use of congregants but also as a place for the community to gather, conduct religious activities and strengthen ties among residents.

“The provision and improvement of places of worship will continue to receive attention as they directly benefit the local community. We want every project implemented to truly meet the needs of residents and provide comfort to congregants,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation to the Masjid Al-Falah management, technical officers and all parties involved in ensuring the project was completed successfully.

Huang stressed that efforts to bring development and improve public facilities in the Sarikei parliamentary constituency would continue to be carried out for the wellbeing of the community, regardless of background.

The improvements at Masjid Al-Falah are expected to provide a more comfortable environment for congregants while benefitting the Sungai Gemuan community and surrounding areas.
