KUCHING: The proposed construction of the Matang Jaya Police Station in Padawan is expected to be completed by May 6, 2027.

Located approximately 5.1 kilometres from the Emart Matang roundabout, the new police will serve to enhance public safety and improve security services for local communities.

“Once completed, the project will serve as a key infrastructure to enhance the state’s law enforcement capabilities, particularly in the Matang area,” said the Sarawak Public Works Department (PWD) in a Facebook post recently.

It added the scope of the project includes the construction of a D-class police station, Class E and F quarters, a genset house, an evidence storage building, a team vehicle garage, and a guard house.
