MIRI: The newly launched Miri Smart City Command Center (MSCCC) will serve as an integrated platform that enables real-time monitoring, data analysis, and coordinated responses across various city functions.

Miri Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang said the establishment of the MSCCC reflects the city’s commitment to leveraging technology and data-driven solutions to improve the quality of life of its residents while enhancing the efficiency of city management.

“Today marks a significant milestone for Miri City as we officially launch the Miri Smart City Command Center, a strategic initiative that represents our commitment to building a smarter, safer, more sustainable and more resilient city for our people,” he said during the launch ceremony at Imperial Hotel here today.

Yii said the command centre was the result of careful planning, strong collaboration and a shared vision among stakeholders to embrace innovative solutions in addressing the challenges of a growing and increasingly complex urban environment.

He noted that through the MSCCC, the city would be able to strengthen public safety, improve traffic and mobility management, enhance emergency response capabilities, monitor critical infrastructure, and facilitate more effective management of public complaints and municipal services.

“More importantly, the MSCCC will support evidence-based decision-making by providing timely and reliable information, enabling the City Council and relevant agencies to respond more efficiently to the needs of our community,” he said.

Yii expressed confidence that the initiative would deliver long-term benefits to the people of Miri through improved service delivery, enhanced public safety, and better urban management.

“It is my sincere hope that the Miri Smart City Command Center will bring lasting benefits to the people of Miri by enhancing the efficiency of city services, strengthening public safety, improving urban management and supporting informed decision-making.

“More importantly, may this initiative serve as a foundation for a smarter, more sustainable and more liveable city as we continue to work together towards a better future for Miri and its generations to come,” he said.
