KOTA SAMARAHAN: Five modified motorcycles were seized during ‘Ops Samseng Jalanan’ conducted along Jalan Kota Samarahan-Sadong Jaya near Kampung Rembus early Sunday (April 12).
Acting Kota Samarahan Police Chief, DSP Barry William, said the operations were carried out from 12:00 am to 3:30 am following complaints of ‘mat rempit’ activities causing public disturbance.
A total of 17 motorcycles were inspected during the operations.
Of these, five were seized under Section 60 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for illegal modifications.
Police also issued 20 summonses for various offences.
Most of the riders detained were aged below 30.
