Month-long ‘buka puasa’ buffet at Imperial Hotel

Imperial Hotel Kuching is bringing back its popular month-long ‘Jom Makan Buka Puasa’ buffet dinner at its Imperial Garden Restaurant, allowing guests to experience the joys of Ramadan.

For the exquisite buffet spread this year, its culinary crew prepared a magnificent selection of authentic traditional delicacies and international favourites.

Among the menu options are salads and appetisers, main courses (on rotation basis), an action stall (roast), a grill station, a noodle station, a bubur corner, a street corner, and a dessert and ice cream station.

Starters include prawns, mussels, bamboo clams, and crabs on ice, different types of umai such as fish, prawn, calamari, salted fish, various types of sambal, crackers, kerabu, ulam-ulaman, and salads.

Among the must-order items are the succulent roasted whole lamb with Arabic rice, the flavourful baked whole fish with Chef’s special sauce, and the chicken shawarma.

Its grill station offers chicken, peppery minute beef, grilled seafood, and satay, as well as sauces and condiments.

Soups on the rotational menu include authentic oxtail soup, chicken herb soup, Chinese eight treasure soup, tom yam soup, sup kambing mamak, and the flavourful sea cucumber soup.

Meanwhile, no Ramadan buffet is complete without the exquisite signature bubur pedas and bubur lambuk (grind porridge with mixed spices), classic biryani rice, tomato rice, mutton curry, sayur umbut lemak putih, and a variety of other authentic local specialties.

For those who love noodles, the restaurant offers mouthwatering Sarawakian delicacies such as laksa Sarawak, belachan bee hoon, sotong kangkung, asam laksa mee, kolo mee, and many more.

To cap off the meal, go to the dessert counter for a delectable assortment of the chef’s handmade cakes and pastries, many types of local and Nyonya kuih, ice cream choices, and an ABC counter with various toppings.

The cost of the buffet is RM119 nett for adults and RM59.90 nett for children ages five to 12.

Those who register as One Imperial Rewards members are eligible for a special early bird price for the ‘Jom Makan Buka Puasa’ buffet dinner starting at RM69 per adult.

The hotel also accommodates larger groups of guests that choose to organise their own private ‘Berbuka Puasa’ gathering.

The Dome Set is only RM89 nett per adult, while the Semi Buffet is RM99 nett per adult.

Private Full Buffet Dinner is RM109 nett per adult and RM54.50 per child (five to 12 years old only).

A wide selection of the chef’s handmade cakes and pastries are available at the dessert counter.
