TEBEDU: Bringing together events and festivals in the Tebedu area could create new economic opportunities and boost Sarawak’s tourism industry.
Tebedu assemblyman Dr. Simon Sinang Bada said that having more tourism activities here is important for improving the local people’s lives.
“Today’s Serian Eco Run holds significance for us as it showcases our tourism offerings in Tebedu to the participants of the run. We aim to reveal the beauty of our plants and animals, our pristine rivers, and our rich cultural heritage.
“Our objective for this run has already been achieved, and we look forward to more people participating in the future and enjoying their time here,” said Dr Sinang.

He said this to reporters after awarding prizes to the winners of the Serian Eco Run in Kampung Daha Kisau today (August 13).
This was the second edition of the event, and Dr Sinang hoped that both locals and foreigners could take part in the event next year.
Additionally, he encouraged villagers in Kampung Daha Kisau to take advantage of opportunities to establish homestays for better economic prospects.
“Setting up homestays can help increase the income of the local villagers, thereby improving the socio-economic situation. This aligns with the state government’s vision for a more developed state, not solely dependent on government projects and programs,” he said.
Currently, only Kampung Pichin, Kampung Mongkos and Kampung Bunan have homestays.
