KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) has launched an operation to clear illegally planted crops on its open land in Taman Unicentral, starting Sept 30.
The three-day operation is scheduled to run until Oct 2 and aims to curb unauthorised planting activities by irresponsible parties.
According to MPKS, unauthorised planting not only violates existing regulations but also disrupts urban development plans and affects the aesthetic value of residential areas.
“Several agencies are involved in the operation, including MPKS’s Enforcement Division, the Planning and Development Division, the Kota Samarahan district police headquarters (IPD), and appointed contractors.
“Police officers and MPKS enforcement personnel are closely monitoring the operation to ensure it proceeds smoothly and safely.
“Prior to taking action, MPKS issued notice to those involved as an early warning measure,” the council said in a statement.
MPKS stressed that any planting activities on council-owned land must first obtain official approval.
The council also urged the public to comply with existing regulations for the well-being of the community.
