BELAGA: The Sarawak Government is expanding digital connectivity in rural areas with the launch of MySRBN XL, a fibre-based initiative designed to deliver faster, more stable, and affordable internet access to the people of Belaga.

Minister for Utility and Telecommunication, Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, said the introduction of MySRBN XL demonstrates the state government’s commitment to ensuring that rural communities are not left behind in the rapidly growing wave of digital development.

“The government recognises that the internet is the key to the future. Therefore, MySRBN is not only being continued but also improved from time to time.

“Today, with the launch of MySRBN XL, we are witnessing a new evolution in providing faster, more stable, and more affordable internet.

“MySRBN XL is not just a rebranding exercise, but a major leap to ensure that the people of Sarawak enjoy internet access on par with global standards,” he said.

He said this during the launch of MySRBN’s new network coverage at the Belaga Community Hall today.

Julaihi said despite Belaga’s geographical challenges and its distance from major urban centres, the state government remains committed to expanding internet access so that residents can enjoy digital conveniences equal to those in other areas.

Elaborating further on MySRBN XL, he said the initiative was introduced in August 2025 as a new fibre-based package offering speeds of up to 100Mbps, using a prepaid concept at RM79 per month without long-term contracts, giving flexibility to rural users with varying financial capabilities.

As a special offer, new customers who register before 31 December 2025 will enjoy a promotional rate of RM69 per month for the first six months.

“This clearly shows the government’s commitment not only to providing fast internet but also to ensuring it remains affordable for rural communities,” he added.
