NETFLIX is taking up residence in Las Vegas, where in February it will open a restaurant inspired by its biggest hits. From “Stranger Things” and “Bridgerton” to “Too Hot to Handle,” there will be something for everyone.
Streaming addicts are in for a treat! Netflix has announced the forthcoming opening of its Netflix Bites restaurant. A place that will get customers to immerse themselves in a different universe of the platform.
While the American giant experimented with a six-week pop-up in 2023, this time around it has a new permanent establishment — the newly opened restaurant at MGM Grand Las Vegas on February 20.
Described as a “culinary adventure,” the restaurant will be opened seven days a week, serving dishes from breakfast to dinner.
The menu will feature dishes inspired by the platform’s culinary shows such as “Chef’s Table” and “Dinner Time Live with David Chang,” as well as reality shows such as “Love is Blind” and “Too Hot to Handle.”
Fans of Eleven from “Stranger Things,” Lady Whistledown from “Bridgerton” and Luffy from “One Piece” can also enjoy unique tastes inspired by their favourite series.
“With Netflix Bites Vegas, we’re taking fan-favorite shows from the screen to the table and turning them into a culinary adventure,” said Josh Simon, vice president of consumer products for Netflix, on the platform’s official blog.
“We’re excited to partner with MGM Grand, experts in hospitality and top-notch Vegas entertainment, to offer fans a new way to experience their favourite stories with an invitation to step into the worlds of ‘Stranger Things,’ ‘Bridgerton,’ ‘Squid Game,’ ‘Chef’s Table,’ ‘Dinner TIme Live with David Chang’ and more, one bite at a time.”
Netflix has shared some menu items: Eleven’s “Fried Feast” includes crispy chicken and waffle sliders, the “‘Bridgerton’ Regency Tea” combines tea, scones and sandwiches in a very “British” style, while “La Casa del Sangria” is a cocktail with Spanish accents.
With Netflix Bites, the American streaming giant is underscoring its ambition to diversify its activities beyond content distribution. In the United States, Netflix recently launched immersive experiences, some of which have become permanent attractions.
This new initiative aims to extend the universe of TV shows into fans’ lives, offering subscribers total immersion in their favourite worlds. It’s a clever strategy for building loyalty among fans eager for goodies and new experiences, and one that has been adopted by other big names in entertainment. — ETX/Dailyup
